render.hd.black_frame

Since 0.7

an HD frame read back for --record, --out or a capture came out black (the mean of its colour channels at most 5/255), once per run; record.json counts them in blackFrames. Usually a closed mesh around the camera: its ray-traced shadows block every light outside it, and GI replaces the flat ambient with what bounces inside

Meaning

an HD frame read back for --record, --out or a capture came out black (the mean of its colour channels at most 5/255), once per run; record.json counts them in blackFrames. Usually a closed mesh around the camera: its ray-traced shadows block every light outside it, and GI replaces the flat ambient with what bounces inside

Fix

give the enclosing mesh a material file with "castShadows": false, open it, or light its inside; render.quality overrides rayTracing.shadows / rayTracing.gi false tell which effect it is
