# LakeLook

> Talos next · Since next

A lake or pond's look: render only, never part of a replay or a physics hash.

The HD renderer uses `waterType` and `foam`; the standard renderer's flat plane uses `waterType` for its tint. Defaults to clear fresh water.

## Fields

| Field | Type | Required | Default | Allowed values | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| `waterType` | `WaterwaysWaterType` | no | | `oceanic-i`, `oceanic-ib`, `oceanic-ii`, `oceanic-iii`, `coastal`, `alpine-clear`, `alpine-glacial`, `lowland`, `tannin` | The water's optical type: a sea class or a fresh-water class (`alpine-clear`, `alpine-glacial`, `lowland`, `tannin`). Absent: `alpine-clear`, the lake default (not the sea's `oceanic-ib`). |
| `foam` | `number` | no | `1` | | Scale on whitecap coverage, 0..2. Default 1. Only matters where the lake has waves (`windMps` above 0). It scales the water type's own foam: the fresh classes start from the calmer still-water baseline of rivers, the sea classes from the sea's. |
| `spray` | `number` | no | | | Scale on spray, 0..2. Lakes throw none: kept so a sea look can be pasted onto a lake. |
