## Fields

| Field | Type | Required | Default | Allowed values | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| `bone` | `string` | yes | | | The bone to lower — the hips, the one both leg chains hang from. A chain whose root is not below it is left out of the measurement. |
| `maxDrop` | `number` | yes | | | Metres, 0 or more: the most the pelvis may be lowered. It bounds how wrong this can look, because a pelvis dropped far enough to reach anything is a character sitting down. 0.15 covers a steep slope on a human-sized rig. |
| `smoothing` | `number` | no | | | Seconds. The time constant of the exponential the drop eases along, as on `lookAt`, so the same number means the same settling time at any frame rate. Left out it is 0.08, which absorbs the step a foot takes onto a kerb without lagging a walk downhill. 0 is instant. |
